Drug Testing

The Loop provides back-of-house drug testing at festivals and music events across England. Back-of-house drug testing is where we test substances which have been found, confiscated, given to us by medics or surrendered into amnesty bins.

By testing substances across the UK, we build a web of data that will help us give harm reduction advice to people who use drugs, informed by what drugs are currently in circulation. In situations where there is a significant threat to the public from a submitted substance, but not only share this information with the person who submitted the substance, we share an alert more widely on our social media, with stakeholders, and on our alerts page.

In 2025 we provided back-of-house drug testing across 27 days at:

  • DRUMSHEDS, London

  • Parklife Festival, Manchester

  • Love Saves the Day Festival, Bristol

  • The Warehouse Project, Manchester

  • Lost Village Festival, Lincolnshire

The Loop does not offer a postal testing service to the general public. Outside of our public drug checking services, WEDINOS is the only UK organisation to currently offer a postal testing service. Some basic testing can be done at home with “reagent tests” to get an immediate test result. The Loop uses this as one of our secondary test methods and we obtain reagents from Reagent Tests UK.
